Folsom Event: New Exhibit at Gallery at 48 Natoma – Sweet Dreams
September 14 – November 1, 2018
The Gallery at 48 Natoma in Folsom is honored to exhibit fantastic art work by Claudia Cohen in the next exhibit opening on Friday, September 14, and continuing through November 8, 2018. California Bay Area artist Claudia Cohen brings a sense of surrealism to many of the bronze and ceramic sculpture she forms. Her recent paintings bring a similar narrative vision to another dimension. Claudia's works bring to life human nature in ways that deconstruct pre-conceived notions about humanity and stimulates the observer’s imagination. Described as comic-surrealism, her style blends objective reality with mythology and flights of fancy with reference to classic art history. Her use of uniquely colored patinas along with this magic-surreal vision are the reasons behind her immense popularity in the Bay Area art community and beyond.
In the adjacent Community Gallery at 48 Natoma, advanced student work from Folsom High School Studio Art Class Show will be on display from September 7 to November 1, 2018. Instructor Jeff Carter has been an award-winning teacher of the arts program at this school, his students have gone on to receive many accolades and awards.
The public is invited to celebrate both exhibits at the free opening reception on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00pm, with refreshments, wine and live jazz guitar music by Peter Morgan.
The gallery is free and open to the public and art is available for purchase. Hours are Monday through Friday from 9am-5pm, with additional hours Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm and Second Saturdays of each month from 9am-1pm. Free tours can be arranged by appointment. For more information contact Gallery Director Cindy Abraham, (916) 355-7285, or firstname.lastname@example.org.
