Folsom Event: Folsom Lake College Speakers Series presents Andy Stanford-Clark
Andy Stanford-Clark, a Master Inventor for IBM and pioneer of the Internet of Things, explains practical uses of the IoT for building smarter homes and communities. Andy believes that innovation begins at home — he even uses his own home as a lab of sorts, using the IoT to connect everything from lights to mousetraps. Join him for an enlightening discussion about how the IoT will shape our future in amazing new ways.
With smart homes, smart cities, and smart factories no longer a faraway fiction, the IoT represents one of the biggest opportunities for technological and financial growth in the modern world. In his time at IBM, Andy has helped create some of the foundational technologies of the IoT. Today, Andy continues to work on the IBM Watson Internet of Things Platform and to help companies understand how to better leverage the IoT.
In addition to being a Master Inventor, Andy also has more than 40 patents to his name and is an accomplished speaker who has spoken at multiple events and presented a TED talk in 2012. Join us on September 20, 2018 at 7 p.m. to hear Andy speak about where IoT has been and where it’s going, and to learn about many practical uses of IoT today that can make your life better.
