Placerville/Gold Hill Event: Summer Stargazing at Wakamatsu

Volunteers Herb Tanimoto and Tim Jackson will share their telescopes and knowledge with you. The magnificence of the mid-summer night sky will be on full display as the sun sets on the Wakamatsu fields. Jupiter will come first, then Saturn, followed by the glorious misty blanket of the Milky Way. We will see the Ring Nebula, the Cat Eye Nebula, the Lagoon, the Omega, and the Butterfly Cluster. You will witness brilliantly colorful double stars and galaxies far, far away. Stay up late and Mars will be rising. Overhead clouds or rain will cancel. Contact ARC to sign up and for meeting location (Placerville/Gold Hill area). Suggested donation: $5/members, $10/non-members. julie@ARConservancy.org or 530-621-1224.
