Denim and Diamonds! “An Evening Benefiting the Hungry”
This fundraiser for the Upper Room Dining Hall will be held on Saturday, November 4, from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Music will be provided by Maria Behm and her Dawn Riders Band. Admission includes heavy appetizers. There will be a no host bar, silent auction, raffle baskets and a photo booth.The event will be held at the St. Patrick Church's Gurnell Hall at 3109 Sacramento Street, Placerville. Tickets are available for $40 or 2 for $75 and table prices are also available. Come out for a good time and a worthy cause; be sure to wear your favorite denim or glam! -- The Upper Room provides meals to all persons regardless of race, religion, gender, income, or age on a daily basis. It will be staffed and funded by volunteers and organizations throughout the community. All volunteers will be trained sufficiently so as to insure that safe wholesome meals are prepared in compliance with current industrially prepared foods and state of California laws. Volunteers will also be trained to promote the dignity and self-esteem of all those who are served by the Upper Room. Because we prepare and serve meals 365 days of the year, we are always looking for volunteers to join our cooking or serving crews. We prepare and serve a hot meal consisting of soup, salad, main course, and desert almost every day. In addition we have a cold sack lunch available for take out each day.
