Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
I use 100-percent natural red henna and pure essential oils to make my own henna paste from scratch, and I adorn others with beautiful body art for any occasion. There are absolutely no dyes or chemicals that could potentially be harmful to your skin. Henna found me at a young age; I would play with henna doodling every chance I got. While creating beautiful henna art, I get lost in the moment – it’s almost meditative for me, and it’s my true passion. I found great reason to create Henna Temptations. I’m able to utilize my talents, and by raising funds for different organizations, I contribute to the community in honor of my late father. The business has blossomed into a fun and creative venture for me.
How are you involved with both the community and your customer?
I often do fundraising henna parties for different organizations, such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), American Heart Association, and National MS Society; in addition, I do bridal henna and henna parties for any occasion or celebration. It not only contributes to great causes, but my customers are always satisfied to get something (in return) for their donation. I also participate in many Renaissance fairs, festivals, and high school grad nights in surrounding communities. My customers become my friends and always want to know where I will be next so they can get their henna fix.
What life accomplishments are you most proud of?
Having an amazing family, following my dream of helping others by earning my master’s degree in counseling, completing three marathons and numerous half marathons in honor/memory of those affected by cancer, and finding time to do henna.
Where do you and your family go locally to have fun?
Livermore Community Park in Folsom – I love the beach volleyball and water features.
And finally, customer service is…?
Treating people with respect, listening, and providing high-quality henna services – all while creating lifelong friendships.
