Describe your business. Did you find it, or did it find you?
I found it. I have been interested in this industry for 35 years; so when this small business became available six years ago, I bought it and changed it into a great children’s/baby boutique.
How are you involved with both the community and your customer?
I am involved in the Placerville Downtown Association and help with events that bring customers down to see what fun shops and restaurants are here. I also support CASA and autism awareness.
Why is your staff the best in the business?
Debbie has been in Placerville for years owning her own business as well as working for others. She is very reliable, helpful and a good friend.
What life accomplishments are you most proud of?
My children – they’ve given me five grandchildren. What else is there?
Who is your role model in business or in life, and why?
I have worked for many people over the years and there isn’t anyone who sticks out by themselves; however, I have been enriched by those who care for others and are not caught up in power struggles – those who try their best to help each person as if they are the only customer.
What’s your biggest job perk?
Making my own decisions, buying product, and the traveling involved in doing that.
What’s your favorite place to eat out locally?
I love Heyday Café.
What’s your favorite local business other than your own?
Placerville Flowers on Main Street…for their creativity and friendly staff.
And finally, customer service is…?
Do you know that our editorial is not paid for, nor can it be purchased? In fact, our Introducing and Dine reviews are not paid advertisements. If you’d like your business profiled, please email Wendy Sipple at firstname.lastname@example.org.
