Since its 1988 debut, this film about two terminally ill men who meet and plan one last adventure, has earned a cult following. Starring a pre-ER Anthony Edwards, this little-seen gem is surprisingly affective but unsentimental, and features a core relationship that rings true.
The Bucket List
What do you get when Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman portray two terminally ill men facing their own mortality? Extreme eyebrow raising for one (come on, it’s Nicholson), but if you also guessed great acting (come on, it’s Freeman) and an entertaining two hours, you’re right. The Bucket List suffers slightly from a schmaltzy and predictable script, but its veteran actors more than make up for the film’s shortcomings.
